Terms and Conditions of Employment

Each college approves their own set of Terms & Conditions of Employment for Administrative Staff. Prior to 2003, all admin staff had the same contract as set by the previous government agency, Council of Regents. Since that time (when the new charter was enacted), the individual Boards of Governors are responsible for setting their own terms for admin staff.  The College Employer Council provided an updated template in March 2010 that was meant to serve as a baseline agreement from which colleges could work.

All admin staff should receive these terms when hired, and they should have easy access to them. This is not a provincially negotiated agreement, though OCASA has been regularly consulted. In turn, OCASA has engaged legal counsel to review these terms.

Admin staff should consider this to be an individual contract with their employer. Any changes to this agreement are subject to contract law. If your college announces a change to your terms and conditions of employment, consider consultation before signing such a change. Contact the OCASA office for more information.
