Paleofuturism and the Fourth Industrial Revolution
What does the future hold for teaching and learning in higher education? “Paleofuturism” explores our present and future through the lens of historical “futurist” predictions and imaginings. This entertaining and thought-provoking session explores the implications of the so-called “fourth industrial revolution” (artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data and the internet of things) for community, collaboration, employment and teaching/learning in higher education. This session will engage participants in lively discussion and critical reflection focusing on the opportunities and challenges facing academic leaders, faculty and students. Prepare to be amazed…and amused….by this forward look backwards!
