OCASA is pleased to announce its new partnership with the Centre for Higher Education Research and Development (CHERD), University of Manitoba in developing and offering exceptional online learning, specifically developed and customized for Ontario’s college administrators.

CHERD has been Canada’s leading provider of high quality courses for university and college administrators for over two decades. OCASA has been Ontarioss college administrators’ professional association for over 15 years committed to supporting the needs of Ontario’s college administrators, including professional development goals. This partnership delivers the flexibility and responsiveness needed in todayss fast-paced, changing environment.

“Our members have expressed a strong interest in accessible learning that provides immediate application to their roles as managers. They have also suggested that a certification program would bring consistency to their training,” Chris Fliesser, President of OCASA stated in making the announcement.

Recognizing there are professional development opportunities at individual colleges, he further noted that “this is not meant to compete or replace good programming in place but rather to supplement them. We welcome opportunities to co-ordinate with other resources so we all gain strength.” Because each course can be taken on an ad hoc basis (one does not need to enroll in the certificate program to take a course), this might also fill an immediate need in a manager’s professional development goals.
